Who we are
Conversa is a voice-first language-learning app. You talk — there is no text box in a conversation — and an AI partner talks back, in one of ten languages. Two partners, Marco and Yuki, carry the conversations; they remember what you have told them and pick the thread back up next time.
Every turn you speak is scored for pronunciation, and the words you use and the words you reach for and miss are tracked so practice keeps landing on the things you have not got yet. Conversa is on iOS and Android.
The blog is written by the Conversa team — the same people who build the app and who spend their working days reading language-acquisition research and listening to learners get stuck on the same handful of things.
How we write these posts
We would rather tell you our method than have you guess at it. Every post on this blog goes through the same pipeline:
- Topic research. We look at what learners actually search for on a topic, read what already ranks, and identify what those results leave out. A post only gets written if it has something to add.
- Sourcing before drafting. We gather concrete material first — real example phrases, dialogue, pronunciation references, linguistic sources. Anything we cannot source, we do not assert.
- Independent critique. Every draft is reviewed against a written editorial standard by a reviewer who did not write it.
- Fact-check pass. Each factual and linguistic claim — every statistic, every research finding, every word or translation presented as correct usage — is checked back against the sources collected in step 2. Unsupported claims are cut or rewritten, not softened.
- Human review before publishing. Nothing goes live without a person reading it end to end.
Our disclosure on AI
We use AI tools in drafting these posts, and we think you should know that rather than have to wonder. What that does and does not mean:
- The research, the sourcing, the critique and the fact-check above are real steps with real outputs, not a description of an intention.
- Claims are tied to sources we cite inline, so you can check them yourself. If a post states something as fact, there is a link.
- A person reads and approves every post before it publishes, and is responsible for it afterwards.
- We do not publish posts we have nothing to say about in order to fill a page. If a topic is already well covered elsewhere and we cannot improve on it, we skip it.

Why we publish it
Most language-learning advice on the internet is written to rank, not to be used. It is general where it should be specific, and it almost never gives you the actual sentence, the actual sound, or the actual mistake.
We write the posts we wish existed when we were stuck: one specific problem, real examples in the language, and a way to practise it. If a post helps and you want to try saying the thing out loud, Conversa is there. If it helps and you never touch the app, that is fine too.
